Papers relating to the estate of George Tate, 1818-1876.

Correspondence pertaining to the will of Adm. George Tate, of Falmouth, Me., who served in the Imperial Russian Navy. Letters are from John Simpson, Tate's godson, and later from Joseph Simpson, executors of the admiral's estate, concerning the delayed distribution of the estate. Josiah Pierce, part of the American Legation in St. Petersburg, Russia, sent a copy of the will to the executors, which is included.
